Vindon Healthcare, which floated on AIM in April 2005, has seen its shares peak at a high of 20.75p, from a low of 13p, since it announced strong results at the end of March.

The firm designs, manufactures and sells environmentally controlled storage facilities for use in the chemical industry, which can be used to stabilise temperature, humidity and light. Products include controlled storage chambers and blood bank storage units.

Turnover jumped 19.1% to £3.1m and pre tax profit amounted to £499,000 for the year to December 2005. The firm is now well positioned to continue on its growth path as it seems to have few competitors in its particular niche and continues to secure blue-chip clients (including GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer).

It has already posted promising contract wins during the first months of 2006, enabling the group to confirm that the total value of these contracts is 30% above the average level for 2005. Moreover, it has high hopes for its ‘Sentinel’ disaster recovery service, which is designed to minimise the impact of crisis.

According to chairman Liam Ferguson, the focus this year is on increasing sales and ramping-up marketing campaigns. Broker WH Ireland believes that the company is well positioned to do so, predicting annual sales growth of 13% over the next two years. It has upgraded the group to ‘Buy’ on the back of expected pre-tax profit growth of 34 % for 2006 and 17% the following year. This leaves Vindon on a forward P/E of 16.4.
