WIN - BUY

Companies: WNN
21/03/2005

Text- and multi-media messaging technology developer WIN relayed impressive results for the year to December, with sales more than doubling to £32.7m and pre-tax profits up fourfold to £1.6m. A hectic year for the company saw its financial performance progress as management finalised flotation plans. The company eventually arrived on AIM in October, having raised £2.2m with the aid of broker Arden. Having generated £1.2m of cash during the year, net funds now exceed £3.5m. WIN makes its money supplying infrastructure software to the wireless-messaging sector. Clients use its technology for two main purposes. The first is to provide and manage a range of mobile device-based services, from Premiership football score updates to text-based voting systems (used by the BBC among others). Secondly, WIN offers a range of connectivity solutions that afford clients access to the UK's five main mobile networks (Vodafone, O2, Orange, T-Mobile and 3). As each of these networks is slightly different, many mobile content providers choose to outsource connectivity to companies such as WIN instead of developing their own systems in house. With a strong customer base - the likes of Coca-Cola, BP and Barclaycard to name just three - an expanding market to target and chief executive Peter Button noting that 'the first two months trading in 2005 has been significantly ahead of 2004', WIN seems good value at present levels. Buy.
