Recycled Waste - NO RECOMMENDATION

08/11/2002

After just ten months on Aim, technology business Recycled Waste has had its shares suspended pending clarification of its financial position. Recycled used to be known as Alpha Accident Management and was subject to a company voluntary arrangement before it completed a £1.3m fundraising and purchased the Recycled business. It joined the Alternative Investment market in January, although just £790,000 of the money raised made its way into the company's coffers, after all the expenses were levied. The adviser to the float was Corporate Synergy, and the broker WH Ireland. With an initial share price of 2p, Recycled was valued at £5.45 million. With its new-found cash-pile, it hoped to use three hi-tech waste recycling processes to grab a share of a huge market of some 400 million tonnes of waste generated in England and Wales every year. Its plan was to concentrate on waste that produces products that can be sold at a significant margin, or have a high 'gate value'. Investors who backed the initial float were also gambling on the group cashing in on recent Government legislation which has cut down the amount of industrial and commercial waste allowed to go to landfill sites (businesses now have to find other ways to dispose of their rubbish, one of which is recycling). Under City regulations, Recycled has until the end of the month to produce results for the full year ending 31 May 2002. Further details of its exact financial position are expected shortly.
