The latest trading statement from Carluccio’s points to profits slightly ahead of expectations for the year just ending. It was also positive news that two of the five new restaurant openings planned for 2007/08 will come before Christmas. After recent weakness in the shares, the news pushed them back over the £2 line at one stage. Tipped here in April last year at 159p, the shares remain a firm hold at the current 190.5p.
