Gulf starts at Sheikh Adi-2 25/05/2012
Iraq-focused oil explorer Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) has begun drilling at the Sheikh Adi-2 well in the Sheikh Adi block.
European Islamic Investment Bank (EIIB) has put £1.8 million into South Africa-focused gem hopeful and fellow AIM counter Diamondcorp.
Chaired by ex-City mining expert Euan Worthington with Australian entrepreneur Paul Loudon as chief executive, Diamondcorp, which is developing the promising Lace mine in South Africa, has placed new shares at 45p, a ten per cent discount to its 30-day average price before the new funding. EIIB, which provides Sharia-compliant investment banking
products and services, will hold nearly 11 per cent of Diamondcorp’s enlarged capital, once the deal goes through.
EIIB shares have fallen from 2006’s 25p float price to 4.25p. Shares in Diamondcorp have slipped from their 90p float level in 2006 to 53p.
