Vernalis to raise £68.5m 10/02/2012
Drug discoverer Vernalis (VER) is to raise £68.5 million as part of a joint venture with US concern Tris Pharma.
Brownfield and green homes developer Eatonfield is gearing up for an imminent float on AIM in mid-November and hopes to reel in £15 million of new money.
The North Walean group is led by founder Rob Lloyd, who is selling £5 million worth of his 100 per cent stake, and has historically been focused on brownfield and urban regeneration sites. However, the purchase of housebuilder Marrs Davies in April has widened this focus and Lloyd is now steering the company into building eco-friendly homes.
A BBC Working Lunch film unit is following one of Eatonfield’s developments, where wind turbines, solar panels and rainwater collections will be added to the new dwellings. Such additions are becoming ever more popular as homeowners look to save on energy bills and go green, with probable Government incentives providing a potential substantial motivation.
Nevertheless, Lloyd’s attention is still centres on regeneration, such as the huge 24-acre, mixed-use site he has just garnered in Paignton, Devon. ‘The float will give us funds to expand the company so we can go for other larger deals.’
Evolution Securities is adviser and broker to the float, for which a price has not yet been set.
