Alternative energy play Energetix says a trial of its Genlec system has shown up to 95 per cent energy efficiency.
According to Chester-based Energetix, a field trial under domestic household conditions showed that a Genlec-enabled heating appliance could be operated at an overall energy efficiency of 90 to 95 per cent. The AIM-quoted company says this represents an improvement on the latest condensing boiler technology in the market, which operates at an overall 90 per cent, and compares with traditional boilers, whose energy efficiency is much lower at 70 per cent.
Chief executive officer Adrian Hutchings says he is ‘looking forward to seeing the next generation unit operating in test homes this winter’. He argues these results mean the company is still ‘on target to launch Genlec-enabled micro combined heat and power appliances in the second half of 2008’.
Floated last August with a £5.4 million funding at 40p and recommended by Growth Company Investor in October at 47.5p, Energetix shares have now reached 117p, up 11.5p this morning, where they value the company at £52.6 million. Hold on.
