Gulf starts at Sheikh Adi-2 25/05/2012
Iraq-focused oil explorer Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) has begun drilling at the Sheikh Adi-2 well in the Sheikh Adi block.
3D technology concern DDD Group (DDD) has signed a deal with electronics giant Sony for its TriDef software.
The agreement will see the California-headquartered DDD sell its TriDef technology for use in Sony's laptops, enabling what it says will be 'glasses-free' 3D videogames and photos. Indeed DDD remarks that it is the 'first time that 2D notebooks will include 3D features' and that it is now 'bringing 3D to the PC mass market'.
It notes that TriDef allows over 500 PC games to be played in 3D despite the fact the games themselves were not created to be played in the format. Chief executive Chris Yewdall enthused that the contract represented the 'biggest PC license to date' for the AIM-quoted venture.
Prior to today's announcement, analysts at house broker Canaccord had been forecasting adjusted pre-tax profits of £300,000 (EPS: 0.1p) on sales of £3.5 million for the year to December. For 2012, the broker has penciled in pre-tax profits of £2.1 million (EPS: 1.4p) on revenue of £6.3 million.
Growth Company Investor last reiterated our speculative buy rating on DDD this August at 28.75p and they have since gained 21.7 per cent to the current price of 35p. A company that has seen its share price rise tenfold since 2009, DDD has been on a strong path this year having signed a number of contracts with key players in the TV, videogames and PC industries. The latest deal is likely to bolster investor confidence further. We reiterate our speculative buy rating.
