Gulf starts at Sheikh Adi-2 25/05/2012
Iraq-focused oil explorer Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) has begun drilling at the Sheikh Adi-2 well in the Sheikh Adi block.
Simon Brickles, erstwhile head of the AIM junior stock market and former chief executive of PLUS Markets Group, is to carve out a fresh role in the City as president of the newly formed HD Capital Partners, a corporate broking and advisory firm set up by two former luminaries of broker WH Ireland, Philip Haydn-Slater and Paul Dudley.
The new firm, which has already raised £4.5 million in Canada for Mexico-focused borate play Bacanora Minerals and is thinking of bringing it to AIM, has now become a Financial Services Authority-regulated concern and member of the London Stock Exchange.
Haydn-Slater, who was head of corporate broking in Manchester-based WH Ireland’s London office, where Dudley was a key member of the team, says HD Capital Partners will focus on resources and renewable energy and has several new deals in the pipeline. ‘We shall be taking on a few brokerages and we are looking to expand,’ he explains.
Brickles, with his extensive web of contacts, will play a key role in putting HD on the map. ‘He will be our ambassador,’ says Haydn-Slater.
