AIM-quoted drug discoverer Sareum Holdings (SAR) is presenting its cancer research programme at the Life Science Leadership Series conference in Cambridge
The Cambridge-headquartered company declares the presentation, which concern its Aurora+FLT3 programme is being organised by life science and healthcare organisation One Nucleus. Sareum's chief scientific officer John Reader, who is presenting the research, remarks that the meeting 'offers us an ideal opportunity to present one of our leading cancer research programmes to representatives from international pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.' When contacted by Growth Company Investor, chief executive officer Tim Mitchell was unavailable for comment.
Growth Company Investor recommended shares in the company in April last year at 0.54p and again this February at 1.76p when it reported positive results for its Aurora+FLT3 leukaemia treatment. That announcement triggered a flurry of excitement across the AIM pharma sector as micro-caps experienced a re-rating in what was considered by many to be a desultory sector.
The company has reported little news of late since announcing in March that a pre-clinical study together with Cancer Research Technology had produced positive results, and investors responded to today's news by helping to lift Sareum's share price 4.1 per cent to 1.9p. While still short of the 2p float was price back in 2004 we retain our speculative buy rating on the company, though we suspect investors will be hoping for a more steady stream of news.
