Gulf starts at Sheikh Adi-2 25/05/2012
Iraq-focused oil explorer Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) has begun drilling at the Sheikh Adi-2 well in the Sheikh Adi block.
More than 1,100 investors, investment professionals and company bosses came to swap ideas at the annual Growth Company Investor Show at the Barbican today.
Nearly 400 of them were fund managers, investment bankers, brokers and other market players anxious to compare notes with each other at this annual event at the Barbican Exhibition Hall in the City and to learn more about the companies exhibiting at the show.
These ranged from technical translations specialist RWS to fellow AIM counter and fast growing internet software specialist Forbidden Technologies to successful drug develoment backer Alliance Pharma and booming PLUS-quoted publisher Quercus.
Visitors were enlightened, entertained and sometimes provoked by speakers including Schroders' investment luminary Andy Brough on '13,000 UK small companies: is there a future?', Close Asset Management's Derryck Noble-Nesbitt on 'equity investing: current thinking' and Times journalist Robert Cole on 'the unwritten laws of finance and investment'.
