Specialist IT services provider Nexus Management has entered a wholesale partnership with Maine-based diversified internet access supplier GWI.
London-based Nexus says GWI, which provides high-speed internet access, server co-location, monitoring management, virtualisation and help-desk services, will now offer Nexus’s services in those fields to its customers. As part of the agreement, GWI has extended its dual-path lit fibre services directly into AIM-quoted Nexus’s own facility in Brunswick, Maine, while, separately, Nexus has won a contract to monitor and assist GWI’s state-wide voice and data network.
In the year to last September, acquisitions helped lift Nexus’s turnover 43 per cent to £5.5 million, but the company incurred a £600,000 operating loss, swollen to a £4.5 million pre-tax deficit by provisions for asset impairments and bad debts. Floated at 2p in 2001, the shares had crumbled to 0.3p recently and now stand at 0.41p, up 0.11p this morning and valuing the company at £4.25 million.
