Molecular diagnostics concern Tepnel Life Sciences has added the iScan Rapid Reader to its range of products and services.
Manchester-based Tepnel says the Rapid Reader is part of the US genetic research group’s iScan System. This is a ‘next-generation’ scanner, aiding researchers conducting genetic variation studies, developed by US genetic group Illumina.
AIM-quoted Tepnel, which has had its ups and downs over the years, says iScan, whose Illumina platform can generate up to ‘225 million genotypes a day’, adds a new string to Tepnel’s bow. The company, which made £1.4 million in the six months to June, says it can now offer customers ‘a broad portfolio of innovative genetic analysis assays’.
Shares in Tepnel have risen from 5.75p two years ago to 13.5p today, valuing the company at £31.5 mllion.
