Compressor technology specialist Corac Group has won four follow-on orders from Austrian client Loebersdorfer Maschinenfabrik (LMF).
AIM-quoted Corac originally supplied a 150 kilowatt turbo boosting compressor to LMF in September and has now won an order for four more units. These provide turbo boosting to high-pressure machines at both 50kW and 150kW sizes, where they have the effect of saving energy costs.
Professor Gerry Musgrove, indefatigable executive chairman of Uxbridge-based Corac, says the compressors ordered by LMF will be used in shipboard seismic equipment, plastic bottle manufacture and chemical production. He hopes the order will stimulate interest from other potential customers.
Corac, which lost £2 million in 2005 and another £1 million in the first half of last year, has had a hard row to hoe since floating at 105p in 2001. The shares, which fell to 21p in 2004, have rallied to 37.25p and remain speculative.
