Indonesia-focused Finders Resources hopes to start producing copper cathode next year from its high-grade Wetar project.
The AIM-quoted and Australian-based company, which raised the equivalent of £2.5 million in June with a dual listing Down Under, says the pilot plant at Wetar should start producing up to 2,000 tonnes of copper cathode per year from Wetar. This will generate significant cash flow ahead of a feasibility study in mid-2008 and targeted full-scale production the following year from the project, for which the company claims estimated resources worth £1.1 billion and likely operating costs of 60 US cents per lb, against a current market price of $2.3 per lb.
Finders, headed by ex-Billiton luminary Chris Farmer, also has potentially interesting gold and silver prospects at Ojolali, within Indonesia’s Sumatra Gold Belt. At 29p, the shares have speculative possibilities.
