IT training specialist Xpertise Group is bullish after lifting its interim pre-tax profits 53 per cent to £191,000.

The AIM-quoted company, which focuses on technical IT training, professional skills and ‘soft skills’ (including customer service), increased turnover 35 per cent to £10.6 million in the first half-year. Richard Last, chairman of the Altrincham-based company, says two ‘substantial training agreements’, with a Government body and Computacenter, contributed strongly to first-half revenue growth, making up 14 per cent of total sales.

Operating profits rose 70 per cent to £189,000 before non-recurring costs of £35,000 relating to a capital reduction carried out by Xpertise and to start-up costs on large new contracts. Last says the company ‘looks forward to the second half’.

At 111p, up 5p this morning, Xpertise shares value the company at £5.9 million.
