Stratex bullish at interim

Mineral explorer Stratex International is developing Turkish gold prospects after losing a more than doubled £530,000 in the first half.

AIM-quoted Stratex, which raised £7 million at 9p in June, has already established an estimated resource of nearly 373,000 oz of gold at its Inlice discovery and argues it now has ‘strategic control over a major emerging gold belt’. The company has teamed up with sizeable Canadian mining group Teck Cominco to identify and explore drilling targets in Turkey’s Konya volcanic belt and has given Teck an option to participate in the Altintepe gold prospect near the Black Sea coast.

Chairman David Hall asserts that the properties under Stratex’s control have ‘multi-million oz potential’. At 10.75p, the shares have risen 45 per cent since Growth Company Investor highlighted them last summer and should be able to outperform several sector peers.
