Mike Mealey, chairman of AIM-listed managed and tenanted pub operator Pubs'n'Bars, has been busy of late. After branching out to manage the Community Taverns' portfolio of 32 pubs on behalf of the Bank of Scotland last December, P'n'B intends to float Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) qualifying company Local Inns on AIM in the autumn.

Hoping to raise £2 million on admission, Local Inns will be managed by P'n'B. To begin with, it will invest in six freehold community boozers.

As if that is not enough, Mealey is looking to float Aussie wine company Warrenmang, independently of P'n'B, on Aim in the autumn. Warrenmang produced a prospectus last December for an aborted £2.3 million float Down Under and is now trying its luck in the UK.

Based in the Pyrenees region of Victoria, renowned as a prestige wine making area, Warrenmang wants to develop and increase recognition of its brands. The company will acquire wine producers and vineyard resort operators Bazzani and Massoni Home, as well as management rights to the GlenKara Estates.
