Amid other board changes, enthusiastic tech marketing man Mike Riley is taking over the chief executive reigns at New Zealand network monitoring solutions counter Endace, which serves heavyweight clients in the telecommunications and financial services sectors, as well as Government agencies.

Riley, 42, joined Auckland-based Endace in November (under the grandiose title of vice president of worldwide marketing) and boasts more than 20 years’ experience in networking and security. He previously served as a marketing and strategy player with NASDAQ-listed Network Engines, a maker of server appliances for the security and storage networking market, and recently became a permanent resident of New Zealand, having relocated from Boston in the US to Auckland with his New Zealand-born wife and children.

Endace, shifting its focus from data acquisition and generation (DAG) cards to NinjaProbe networking monitoring appliances, has just reported its fifth consecutive year of sales and profits growth. For the year to March, profits surged 150 per cent to US$3.9 million (£1.96 million) on sales up 55 per cent to $17 million and Riley is heralding a major new phase of growth. The company, which debuted on AIM in 2005 at 162p, is now worth £49.5 million at the current 335p.
