FinnCap finds well-practiced financier

03/11/2008 Robert Tyerman

Broker and corporate adviser FinnCap has appointed industry veteran Naiem Hussain as its new director of finance.

Hussain has more than 20 years of city experience, having managed 60 companies and a portfolio of ventures listed on everything from the FTSE 250 to AIM and NASDAQ in his role as head of asset management at intellectual property and investment company Imperial Innovations.

He has also worked in a senior corporate finance role at merchant bank Close Brothers, where he specialized in the energy, chemicals and life sciences sectors and worked as head of asset management and investment. More recently, Hussain was managing director of corporate finance at Libertas Capital – specialising in renewables.

Sam Smith, managing director of FinnCap, says: ‘We are delighted to have Naiem on board; he brings an in-depth experience and knowledge of the UK financial markets.’

She adds that Hussain’s knowledge of the renewables, healthcare and technology sectors will benefit the company as they remain key areas of investment for it. Hussain says: ‘I am looking forward to working with FinnCap’s well-regarded corporate finance team and to continue to develop FinnCap’s corporate strengths and reach.’
