AIM’s fundraising power in new issues, continues virtually unabated. Over £2.85 billion was raised in the second quarter of 2006, bringing the total for the year so far to over £5 billion, more than double the amount achieved in the same period last year.
Recent new issues include Heritage Underwriting, the specialist Lloyd’s insurer which attracted £15.4 million with the help of Nomad and broker KBC Peel Hunt, and Tinci, an engineering counter in China’s Guangdong Province, which snared a £37.1 million market price following a placing at 70p.
In the resources space, Goldplat debuted following a £1.5 million funding – the venture is an established producer of gold and platinum group metals recovered from mining process by-products such as woodchips and grease. And Australian entrepreneur Alan Burns is bringing Carnegie Minerals to market to seek £2 million for an African mineral sands project.
