Philippines-focused European Nickel has appointed Peter Rowe as a non-executive director and chairman-in-waiting.
The AIM-quoted company says Rowe will take over as chairman before its annual meeting on 30 August. He is currently a chairman at ASX-listed Millennium Minerals and Adamus Resources, also serving as a non-executive director at the Western Australia-focused IronClad Mining and rare earths specialist Kimberley Rare Earths.
Rowe has previously worked in mining in the Philippines and is said to be bringing ‘extensive project development experience’ to European Nickel as it ‘makes the transition from developer to producer over the next few years’.
Rowe previously served as head of Australian exploration group Bulong Operations, a company that was later on placed into administration ‘as a result of a combination of poor plant reliability, uncertainty regarding acid supply and the effect of the strengthening Australian dollar.’
