Sweden-focused miner Beowulf has appointed Fred Boman as production director. Boman, currently working as a production consultant for Beowulf is a mining veteran, holding an MSc in mining and mineral processing from the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm, Sweden.
Boman has worked for more than 35 years in the industry with senior roles including a stint as vice president and head of engineering and R&D at Swedish mining company Boliden, a period spent as president and chief executive officer of the Ethiopia-focused gold miner Midroc Gold and managing director at Dragon Mining. A member of the Association for Mining and Metallurgical Engineers of Sweden, he is also accredited by the Swedish Mining Association.
Chairman Clive Sinclair Poulton remarks that he is ‘delighted to welcome Fred’, who brings both ‘technical skills and vast experience of mining developments’ to assist with ‘the development of our flagship iron ore projects towards potential future production.’
