While much of the media is currently focused on the implications arising from Twitter users publishing the names of those who took out super injunctions, Stephen Goodyear, boss of pub group Young & Co’s, is certainly a fan of the microblogging site and its potential to boost business.
‘One of our pubs in London operates a Twitter page and recently Tweeted on a hot day that they were having a barbecue and that people should come round. In two hours more than one hundred people turned up as a result.’ Goodyear adds that the company employs ‘a couple of people’ whose job it is to continually update a variety of Twitter feeds.
