AIM-50 constituent Blinkx informed the market that it had reached an agreement with TV platform Roku to provide its blinkx app to the company. The app is to be found on Roku’s channel store and will allow customers to watch content from Blinkx.
The appropriately named Jim Funk- vice president of business development at Roku enthused that the app will enabled Roku customers ‘to enjoy the rich online video content that blinkx has to offer.’ Cambridge graduate and tech star Suranga Chandratillake, the youthful CEO of Blinkx remarked that he was ‘thrilled’ to offer the company the blinkx app, which he enthused contained a ‘massive index of professionally produced video.’
Fellow AIM heavyweight Young & Co’s also pleased the market, releasing a set of strong full-year results in which it reported an 11.8 per cent rise in sales. The pub giant took the opportunity to endorse cask beers and drinks arguing that ‘cask beer remains the perfect product for consumers seeking out a more interesting drink’ while cask ale ‘continues to outperform the overall beer market.’ The company also announced that chairman Chris Sandland, who worked for the company an impressive 38 years was to step down, to be replaced by non-executive director Nick Bryan.
