The recent departure of investment group Canaccord’s veteran mining guru Mike Jones for Investec has been by no means the only move in a merry-go-round that has recently seen several stalwarts on the move. Among firms that have benefited from an influx of talent from the Canadian-owned group is Russian-based Renaissance Capital, whose head of international equity sales, Roger Murphy, is another émigré from the same house.
Murphy, a highly rated former mining sector specialist at Deutsche Bank, joined Canadian-owned Canaccord five years ago, but he left for Renaissance last February.
