Seasoned small company financier John Bridges has newly joined broker Keith Bayley Rogers, part of the Walker Crips broking group, for the second time. ‘It is 20 years since I first joined,’ he recalls as he prepares a series of ploys, including a potentially hefty flotation on the PLUS-quoted market.
The dapper Bridges, whose natural urbanity has over the years been tested in many corporate spats, has moved to KBR from Orange Corporate Finance, at which original hopes of creating a mini-merchant bank seem to have stalled on personalities. That has in no way dented the resolve of Bridges, who has adorned companies as diverse as Merrill Lynch, colourful Andrew Greystoke’s ill-starred City & Westminster and investment hopeful Navigator.
With an unrivalled knowledge of the connections and personalities on the smaller companies scene – not least where the bodies are buried and by whom – Bridges could prove a useful addition to the KBR team. He also has one dynastic connection: his daughter Nemone Wynn-Evans is a key player in the team at PLUS Markets Group.
