Benefits of past investment will benefit Vp, suggests Les Copeland
Amer Deen, the entrepreneurial figure who headed the ill-starred Mosaique investment concern for two years, has assembled an experienced board for his acquisitive new venture, PLUS-quoted HealthyDays.
Stephen Barclay, ex-boss of Seymour Pierce, is in the chair at the Sheffield-based company, whose PureSleep division sells UK-made adjustable beds, bath lifts, mobility scooters and kindred products to elderly people with mobility problems, and the company boasts another financier, ex-Ansbacher luminary John Shaw, on the team.
Deen, a former building services and investment advice chief, says fast-growing HealthyDays, which serves ‘the higher end of the market’ and does most of its business for cash, has already lined up at least one takeover target in the ‘particularly fragmented’ UK mobility market. He stresses that a deal could be done ‘in a matter of weeks’, provided the vendors will accept paper.
HealthyDays made around £300,000 in the year to last June on £2.3 million turnover, before amortisation and other costs, and made a £240,000 provision for product warranty claims. For the year to next June, Deen has pencilled in £350,000 pre-tax.
