Synigence followed up its recent name change (it used to be called Healix) with an auspicious set of interim results to June. The multimedia news group increased sales from £0.6m to £1m, an improvement that allowed it to move into the black with pre-tax profits of £0.6m (losses of £0.4m). Synigence's Clinnix products, distributed to general practitioners across the UK, remain the company's major focus, but revenue and marketing changes have been inaugurated to further boost profits. In August, the long-standing monthly fee from Innovex was waived in favour of increased commissions - on both the sale of its own services through Innovex and from sales associated with Innovex's multimedia programmes. Synigence has also signed a joint marketing agreement with BT Syntegra, to incorporate within Clinnix a link to the NHS Messaging Service managed by BT Syntegra. A fundraising and move to Aim is being planned for the autumn in order to finance further restructuring.
