The consumer credit group ended the full year on a slightly better note than it did the half-year. Although the 'major recovery' predicted by chairman Derek Coombs never really materialised, full year turnover was up from £62.3m to £64.8m, with pre-tax profits falling from £6.8m to £5.9m. Earnings per share fell from 40.6p to 33.3p but the dividend was actually increased from 19.0p to 20.0p. These figures were dented by an additional provision for doubtful debt of £0.8m. On a personnel matter, the role of managing director has gone to Anthony Coombs, and three non-executive directors have been brought onto the board.
