Renewable energy play Solar Integrated Technologies has won a £6.5 million photovoltaic roofing order from Tesco USA.
The $13 million (£6.5 million) order is for what Solar boss Randall MacEwen claims as ‘the largest roof-mounted solar installation in the world’. Tesco USA, part of the British retailing giant, has ordered the two megawatt roofing system to be installed at the distribution centre it is building in Riverside, California. It has prompted AIM-quoted Solar’s depressed shares to rally 14.5p today to 52p, valuing the company at £35.35 million.
