After a disappointing 12 months on AIM, video communications outfit Scotty Group can join in the festive cheer after signing a four-year agreement with airborne sensor specialist, Diamond Airborne Sensing.
The deal is welcome news for the group, which appointed Lord Trefgarne as chairman last month, replacing Derham O’Neill who vacated the position after less than a year.
Director Georg Weber is hoping for a better 2007: ‘Our business is good and we are pleased with the results, but we are not pleased at the moment with the share performance [the shares have fallen over 60 per cent in 12 months].’
Diamond Airborne Sensing specialises in aircraft that serve as aerial sensor carriers. It is a subsidiary of the Austrian-based Diamond Aircraft Industries, which operates globally and has more than 1,200 personnel.
After six-months of tests and trials, the agreement allows for Scotty Group and Diamond Airborne Sensing to provide communications and sensory equipment on planes for customers of Diamond Aircraft Industries in the security, surveillance and government sectors.
The deal comes on the back of Scotty Group receiving a contract extension and additional orders in September from military and civil aviation company Eurocopter, bringing in £850,000 of previously-unannounced revenue.
