Greggs' refit and portfolio rationalisation seem to have had the desired effect. Operating from 1,091 trading units under the Greggs and Bakers Oven brands, like for like sales growth of 6.7% and 4.2% respectively buoyed turnover 8% to £148m. The bakery concern also unveiled a 22% rise in interim pre-tax profits to £7.8m. Charterhouse Securities forecast full-year pre-tax profits of £23.5m.
