Iraqi and Algerian oil and gas explorer Gulf Keystone Petroleum has hired a new finance director in the shape of Kristian ‘Ewen’ Ainsworth, previously of AIM-listed peer Europa Oil & Gas.
With 20 years’ experience in the hydrocarbons industry, Ainsworth brings strong technical skills in managing public company finances and regulatory obligations, as well as international transaction and funding experience, says ‘delighted’ executive chairman Todd Kozel.
Ainsworth’s previous tenures have been at Conoco UK, Murco Petroleum and Texaco, as well as geographic experience, having been responsible for providing financial support to the Algeria and Azerbaijan operations of CIECO Exploration & Production and working in Egypt for Europa.
Gulf Keystone shares are down almost two-thirds from a 52-week high of 72p last February at the present 25.25p.
