Pizza delivery venture Domino's rolled out an upbeat trading statement for the year and the Christmas trading period ended 31 December 2000. Total sales for the year in the UK and Republic of Ireland leapt by 19.9% to £76m. In the final nine weeks of the year, like-for-like sales added 8.2%. In the run-up to Christmas 3.4% of the group's sales were achieved either over the internet, from www.dominos.co.uk, or through interactive TV. Domino's had 215 delivery stores at the year end. The group expects to post its preliminary figures on 18 February. Analysts wil be looking for pre-tax profits of £2.18m, with £2.60m to follow in 2001. At the preliminary stage last year the company revealed group sales of £25.6m and a £1.8m pre-tax profit. House broker Seymour Pierce recommends it as 'a buy'.
