Domino's Pizza languishes at an all-time low since flotation. Shares began trading in November at an 80% premium to the placing price of 50p, before falling back to their current level. Even its much-publicised moves into e-commerce have failed to buoy the pizza delivery concern. The group announced another step in this direction with a deal with Telewest Communications to provide its customers with a TV pizza ordering service, adding to its existing interactive service with Open. 'e-pizza' can also be ordered on the internet, as part of a strategy to increase Domino's market share through e-commerce. The franchise holder currently has 6%, by number, of the total pizza delivery outlets, and 18% by value. Its main competitors are Perfect Pizza and Pizza Hut. House broker Seymour Pierce forecasts pre-tax profits of £1.8m for 1999.
