BrainDock.com, the distributor of software and content for the fledgling mobile internet sector, failed to inspire the market after releasing its maiden set of interim figures. In the six months to June the group connected with sales of $463,618 ($452,457 in the previous eight months) as losses spiralled to $1.17m. Chief executive Jonathan Glaser remarked that the period had seen the group invest in its infrastructure while important R&D had improved the company's delivery of e-commerce services, website upgrades and wireless technology initiatives. The loss, however, has taken a significant chunk out of the £2.7m BrainDock raised during its flotation. Shares remained subdued at 11p, a mere 1p above the flotation price. Whether they rise or not will depend heavily on the success or otherwise of this much feted sector which has, as yet, not lived up to expectations.
