If only this second division football club's defence was as solid as its shares - they never seem to budge. Then the side would gain promotion and give investors a greater return. Unfortunately player expenses have hit the final financial results. In the year to the end of June the club made a £1.44m pre-tax loss on £4.06m turnover. Last time though a £113,000 profit before tax was returned on £3.85m turnover. No dividends were paid, like last year. But investors won't be happy that the losses translate into 71.1p of losses per share. However, they all appear to be fans and will be focusing on performance on the pitch instead.
