Impressive half year figures were posted by this distribution and aviation services group. A first full six month contribution from the recently purchased Coolchain outfit helped to push turnover up to £94.4m (£59.6m). Pre-tax profits rose to £4.7m (£3.5m). Dart is comprised of two divisions, distribution and aviation. Within the distribution operations both Fowler Welch and Coolchain expanded their businesses. The strategy going forward will be to grow distribution organically and by acquisition. The Channel Express arm of the aviation business is expected to benefit from the 6% a year growth in the air cargo industry. Chairman Philip Meeson commented that trading during the second half 'continues satisfactorily'.
