Mobile email software provider Synchronica has won a $730,000 (£418,000) order from MTS, Russia’s leading mobile operator.
The AIM-quoted company, described here on Monday as close to a major order, is to provide mobile email for MTS subscribers in the Moscow area. In a second phase, Tunbridge Wells-based Synchronica will launch its service to MTS’s 84 million subscribers across Russia and other former Soviet Union states.
Under the deal, Synchronica will provide software upgrades and ‘customisation’ of its email ‘solution’, SimpleMail, which the company acquired with its recent takeover of Axis Mobile. Chief executive Carsten Brinkshulte says this move was the ‘natural result’ of Synchronica’s identification of the mobile email potential of Russia and Eastern Europe.
Synchronica’s shares, which hit 91p three years ago, now languish at 3.5p. More deals like this one could provide some bounce.
